Bamburgh Castle, Bamburgh,
Northumberland, NE69 7D. Standing on a rocky outcrop overlooking
miles of beautiful sandy beach, Bamburgh Castle dominates the
Northumbrian landscape. A magnificent castle completely restored
in 1900, it houses collections of china, porcelain, furniture,

Berwick upon Tweed ramparts were rebuilt during the reign of
Elizabeth I,at a cost of £128000, they were the largest
building scheme of any sort commissioned during her reign. One
and a half miles long and still in pristine condition, they are
no more than 20 feet high but very thick. They now provide an
excellent walk from which to look over the town, the harbour
and the river.

Berwick-upon-Tweed is one of 3 bridges spanning the river here.
This 28-arch bridge, designed and built in the manner of a Roman
aqueduct by Robert Stephenson, was completed in 1850. In the
centre of Berwick upon Tweed.
