beautiful Georgian house, overlooking the Montrose Basin Nature
Reserve, was designed by William Adam and completed in 1730 for
David Erskine, the 13th Laird of Dun. Grand public rooms with
elaborate plasterwork by Joseph Enzer sit alongside family apartments.
The house contains collections of 18th and 19th century furniture,
porcelain and portraits. About 4 miles east of Brechin.

railway station is Montrose. Connecting bus service to Brechin.
Brechin bus station is only a few hundred yards from the ground
and buses on the Aberdeen - Dundee and Montrose - Edzell routes

Well known for the eleventh century round tower, almost 1,000
years old, one of two Irish-style monuments surviving in Scotland.
The tower originally stood alone, but is now incorporated into
Brechin Cathedral.

the Caledonian Railway is a wonderful day out for all the family
with a wide variety of things to do and see. The unique Victorian
terminus at Brechin has lots of period charm and atmosphere,
and having boarded your train you will journey back in time as
