Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre and Wildlife Reserve, Dunkeld.
Loch of the Lowes covers 98 hectares and from early April to
late August the star attraction is a pair of breeding ospreys.
Their nest is situated within 150 metres of our observation hide,
allowing osprey family life to be observed through binoculars,
telescopes and closed-circuit television. About 1 mile northeast
of Dunkeld.
The Hermitage, Near Dunkeld,
Perthshire. Tel: 01350 728641. An attractive woodland walk leads
along the banks of the River Braan, through mixed woodland and
past a single-arched bridge to the picturesque folly of Ossians
Hall. Here are some spectacularly tall Douglas fir trees, including
one of Britains tallest at over 210ft. About 1 mile west
of Dunkeld.
Dunkeld Cathedral. Dunkeld Cathedral lies on the north bank of
the River Tay. With the river on one side and open land leading
to hills on the other, the setting is idyllic. www.dunkeldcathedral.org.uk.
