Elstree
is about 14 miles from Charing Cross, Westminster, generally
accepted as the place for measuring the distance to and from
London. It is a village north of London lying on the A5 and forms
part of the parish of Elstree and Borehamwood. It is well known
for giving its name to the Elstree Film Studios where a number
