At the top of Kirriemuir Hill is a camera obscura, which offers
a panorama of the surrounding Strathmore countryside and the
glens to the north. There are only three of these fascinating
installations still remaining in Scotland. This one was given
to the community of Kirriemuir by J M Barrie, the creator of
Peter Pan, after he was honoured with the freedom of the town
in 1930. About 7 miles northwest of Forfar.

folk museum is housed in six 18th-century Angus cottages. The
collection offers a vivid insight into the realities of rural
life over the past 200 years. About 7 miles southwest of Forfar.

The castle is the family home of the Earls of Strathmore and
Kinghorne and has been a royal residence since 1372. The childhood
home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, birthplace
of Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret and legendary setting

Restenneth Priory, Forfar.
The ancient priory church at Restenneth, by Forfar, is believed
to have been founded by Nechtan, king of the Picts about 715.
The church is one of the very earliest stone buildings in Scotland.
