opened at the Sobriety Project in 1987, based on the story of
the Aire and Calder Navigation and the creation of the Port of
Goole. The Sobriety is a Humber Keel built in 1910 at Beverley.

The Humber Bridge, Humber

Tel: 01482 647161. The Humber Bridge is the third longest single
span suspension bridge in the world, 25 years after it was built.
This beautiful structure provides a practical link between the
North and South banks of the Humber. Since its completion in
1981 it has had more than 100 million users. The bridge has its

miles east of Goole.
Selby Abbey, The Crescent, Selby, North Yorkshire YO8 4PU Tel.
01757 703123. Selby Abbey is unique in the North of England,
as the first monastery to be founded in the North after the Norman
Conquest and one of the few in England to have survived as a
parish church. Benedict of Auxerre founded the abbey. It escaped
the Dissolution of the Monasteries, and although part was pulled
down, the central nave survived and in 1618 it became the parish
church of Selby. It overlooks Selby's market place with its market
cross of 1790, a bustling place of activity on Monday market
