Mansion is a fine Tudor building set in an ancient and beautiful
park close to the centre of Ipswich. With historic room settings,
paintings by Gainsborough and Constable and beautiful furniture.
Disabled access to parts of the building. Gift Shop and licensed
cafe. Location: In the centre of Ipswich.
Dedham Vale and Flatford - Constable Country. Flatford Mill is
on the River Stour close to the Suffolk-Essex border. There is
a tiny 16th century thatched cottage (Bridge Cottage) beside
the river, now owned by the National Trust. Famous location for
John Constable's idyllic pastoral paintings. About 10 miles south
west of Ipswich.
