Bingley Five Rise lock.
The 5-rise is the steepest flight of lock in the UK. When it
opened on March 21 1774, a major feat of engineering at the time,
a crowd of 30,000 people turned out to celebrate it. The flight
is a major tourist attraction in the area. About 4 miles southeast
of Keighley.

750,000 visitors each year. The museum has a collection of over

Saltaire is a purpose-built
"model" Victorian industrial village, built in the
19th century by the Victorian philanthropist Sir Titus Salt to
provide self-contained living space for the workers at his woollen
mills. Today Salt's Mill has been converted into the "1853
Gallery" which houses a collection of the works of the famous
artist, David Hockney. About 6 miles southeast of Keighley.
Shipley Glen Cable Tramway, Baildon, Shipley, West Yorkshire
BD17 5BN Tel: 01274 589010 The Shipley Glen Cable Tramway is
the oldest working cable tramway in Great Britain (cliff lifts
excepted). Dating from 1895, the line was built to serve the
local beauty of Shipley Glen, near Saltaire in West Yorkshire.
At nearly a quarter-mile in length, the woodland ride provides

The Bronte Parsonage Museum,
Haworth, Keighley BD22 8DR Tel: 01535 642323 The Parsonage in
Haworth is where the Bronte Sisters grew up and wrote most of
their famous novels, while their father was incumbent at Haworth's
adjacent church. It is now a museum owned and maintained by the
Bronte Society; lovingly preserved, it is the principal attraction
for Bronte enthusiasts visiting Haworth. About 4 miles south
of Keighley.
