Maclellan's Castle, Castle Street, Kirkcudbright DG6 4JD. Tel:
01557 331 856. MacLellan's Castle is a large 16th century L-plan
castellated tower house, complete except for its roof. It was
built by the then provost of Kirkcudbright, Thomas MacLellan
of Bombire, in the 1750s, but probably never finished. Location:
In the centre of Kirkcudbright.

into the heart of the beautiful art deco power station, to the
control room where the whole process is monitored and to the
turbine hall where the machines resonate with newly created power.
Then walk over Tongland dam to the fish ladder, a man made construction
of 29 stepped pools giving salmon and sea trout a helping hand
when they make their way upstream from the river to the reservoir
hundreds of feet above. About 2 miles north of Kirkcudbright.

331645. (formerly Wildlife Park Kirkcudbright), set in 27 acres
of mixed woodland, is the wild animal conservation centre of
southern Scotland. A varied collection of nearly 150 animals
from all over the world can be seen within the peaceful and natural
settings where the woodland has been tailored to provide large
and imaginative enclosures. About 2 miles north of Kirkcudbright.
