Louth attractions Alford Windmill, The Five Sailed Windmill, East Street, Alford, Lincolnshire LN13 9EQ. Tel: 01507 462136. One of England’s finest working windmills, milling organic flours. The six-storey windmill has a Tea Room and garden, wholefood shop, restored bakery oven and antiques in the old Engine House. About 9 miles southeast of Louth.

Home to over 500 birds from exotic waterfowl, ducks, geese and swans, to crowned cranes, storks and ibis. There are peacocks and pheasants, cockerels,wallabies, goats and a miniature Shetland pony.
