- To the west of this
region lies Shropshire on the rolling hills between Birmingham
and the Welsh border, with its capital Shrewsbury, the finest
Tudor town in Britain.
-
- To the north is Staffordshire,
the famous Potteries district, and Nottinghamshire with Sherwood
Forest, once home of the legendary Robin Hood.
-
- In the centre is Leicestershire
with several interesting towns and historic sites, and to the
south, Nottinghamshire and Bedfordshire, peaceful and largely
agricultural counties.
-
- For the purposes of
this site, the central England area extends to the counties north
of London
