Northern England - Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Cleveland - Accommodation
The area we have called " northern England" extends from Berwick upon Tweed to Middlesbrough.
The rugged coastline to the east boasts beautiful beaches.

It borders the western lakes and touches Scotch Corner and the Tees valley in the south.
The area's famous castles stand as reminders of the region's remarkable history, with medieval towns and villages to visit, and some of the finest church architecture in the country - Durham Cathedral, Hexham Abbey and the ruined priories of Gisborough and Finchale.

Northumbria is packed with stately homes and gardens, museums and parks and reminders of its railway heritage at Darlington Railway Centre and Beamish Open Air Museum.
