Snetterton Circuit, Attleborough,
Norfolk NR16 2JU. Snetterton is an extremely popular test venue
on which premier racing cars have been developed. Highlights
on the calender include rounds of British Superbikes and the
British Touring Car Championship. About 9 miles north east of
Thetford.
Thelnetham Windmill, nrThelnetham, Suffolk IP22 1JZ. Tel: (01473
727853. Early 19th Century Windmill with conical cap, on the
border of Norfolk and Suffolk. Thelnetham Windmill is in wonderful
condition. Visits by appointment only. About 8 miles west of
Thetford.
West Stow Country Park
and Anglo-Saxon Village, Icklingham Road, West Stow, Bury St
Edmunds, IP28 6HG. Tel: 01284 728718. The Anglo-Saxon Village
is set in 125 acres of country park with woods, a river &
a lake. The Visitor Centre (with disabled access). Shop &
Cafe, Children's play area, Nature trail and Picnic area. About
8 miles south of Thetford.
Thetford Priory. Remains of the East Anglian monastery, Our Lady
of Thetford. The lower walls of the church and cloister remain,
the shell of the priors' lodging and an almost complete 14th-century
gatehouse. English Heritage. Location: In the centre of Thetford.
Thetford Forest Park,
located on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk. Designated a Forest
Park by the Forestry Commission in May 1990, Thetford Forest
attracts over 1.5 million visitors each year. It hasa large population
of hares, rabbits, gamebirds and deer. It has become popular
with mountain bike enthusiasts, both families and experienced
riders enjoy the trails. Location: On the outskirts of Thetford.
