to flooding. The structure is located on the River Thames at

Woolwich
is about 10 miles south of Charing Cross, Westminster, geneally
accepted as the place for measuring the distance to and from
London. Woolwich lies in the borough of Greenwich, on the south
side of the river. It is known for the Woolwich Ferry, a river
crossing point to North Woolwich on the northern bank of the
